“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

You know the song “Praise You in this Storm”? I was thinking how that has been my theme song for the past season of my life. It was an anchor to my soul in my time of distress, it is what kept me from being tossed about in a sea of hopelessness during a turbulent time.
Today, I am in a better place. The storm has calmed, and I am at the dock of life getting ready to set sail on the next voyage of life.
So, what does that look like? Am I ready to head out again? Have I repaired my vessel adequately, do I have all the supplies I need to leave the dock?
Psalms 30:2 says “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.”
I called out to God for help. I praised Him in the storm and the Lord has healed my wounds. He took what was weak and made it strong. He took the places I was fearful and made me fearless.
Proverbs 4:20-22 says “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”
This is one of those power verses with a lot of good advice and a path for success. Let’s break it down:
Pay attention to His word
Listen to His word
Keep them (His words) in your sight
Keep them (His Words) in your heart
His Words are Life
His Words are health to your whole body
God’s Word is a map you can safely follow as you travel through life. So today I stand at the helm of my ship and wave goodbye to my safe place, knowing that God has prepared me to make this trip and my soul swells in anticipation!
Heavenly Father, thank you for your healing. Thank you for your Word as our map. We praise you in the storms of life and are grateful that you never leave our side. We know our help comes from you and we praise you in the storms of life and anticipate our new journey’s as well! Amen
